On this day, The United Nations General Assembly encourages everyone to wear purple, to help build awareness within communities.

The WSCRN involves local social and health service organizations, government agencies, community-minded individuals, area businesses and senior groups. Partner organizations sponsoring Westshore WEAAD events include BCCRN, Pacific Centre Family Services Association (PCFSA), RCMP’s Keep In Touch (KIT) Program and Metchosin Seniors’ Information & Resource Centre (SIRC).

SIRC’s Westshore CRN Coordinator, Dawn Boshcoff, extends an invitation to all concerned citizens, “Come out and help us make a shining example of how to keep our communities age-friendly, and our most vulnerable citizens, safe and secure.”
