Dear Members of the MSA and Guests,

It is with pleasure that I write on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Metchosin Seniors’ Association to invite you to the 2019 Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. The AGM is an important, constitutional meeting allowing members to hear about the activities, achievements and operations of the previous year.

This year we are proposing that, Bylaw 26(1), “Directors shall serve on the Board for a term not to exceed 3 years. Directors may serve on the Board a second consecutive 3-year term”, be amended to read: “Each Board member will be duly elected at the Annual General Meeting for a term of three (3) years.”
and,
Bylaw Part 2 Membership; Items (6) and (9), in regards to wording,
“annual membership fees” be amended to read: “one-time membership fee”.
We appreciate your attendance and participation to approve these bylaw changes.

I am delighted to announce that Bonnie Hardy will be our guest speaker. Bonnie will speak about her book, Aging Loved Ones: A Guide to Organizing and Managing the Aging Process. The book is the culmination of a wealth of information Bonnie acquired about the resources, services and supports, critical for the aging population.

Bonnie will be known by many of you, as she is a long-time resident of Metchosin, and Director of the MSA. She holds professional designation of CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) of the B.C. Human Resources Management Association and, before retiring, was the Director, Employee and Organization Development with the B.C. Mistry of Health.

The Minutes for the 2018 AGM and 2018 Year End Financial Statements may be viewed by clicking on the above links and will be made available at the meeting, along with this year’s Agenda. Thank you for your ongoing support and interest in the MSA. We very much look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, March 19th at 2:00pm.

Sincerely,

Deirdre Chettleburgh, Chair
MSA Board of Directors
